When we go home to “grandma’s” house Barkley gets to sleep on the bed. He loves this so much. unfortunately he lets this special privilege get to his head, as he cuddled right up on my pillow!  

So I had to kick him to the foot of the bed. Sometimes I don’t know if he realizes he is a dog…

Barkley 11/9

This is how Barks eats. He has a bit of his food, then he turns around and looks at us, to make sure we are still here, then goes back to eating. He does this repeatedly as he eats…it is so weird. He obviously has separation anxiety. He was lost on the street for three days as a youngster, when my wife’s ex-roommate lost him some how. And then when my wife came to teach in South Korea with me she left Barkley at her parents house for a year. So I guess it is justified.

Show Me The World: Union Station

 

This weekend some friends of ours came into town to visit so my wife and I took them to fabulous Union Station. I do enjoy the architecture of these old buildings.

I wonder, though, why are these buildings called Union Station, because there are Union Stations all over, specifically I know of Chicago, L.A. and Denver. Were they built by the Union Pacific railway company? Or is it “union” as in central area of some sort?

Oh yeah, there was also a pretty cool pirate exhibit. It was worth the cost of admission, however, they falsely reported the independence day of Ghana as 1958 on one of their displays. It’s 1957! I’ll be writing an angry letter.
